Continuing Evening and Weekend Programs
These are programs that are delivered each week and continue all year round. These programs offer learning opportunities in technology, culture, language, performance arts, sports, and more.
As with all Cross continuing programs, they are delivered in English. One of the major learning objectives is to learn to communicate in English in an applied learning context. All Cross instructors are professionals in their particular field, as well as trained language specialists.
The word mechatronics was invented by the Japanese engineer Tetsuro Kikuchi in 1969. It is a combination of the terms ‘mechanical’ (“mecha” for mechanisms, i.e., machines that ‘move’) and ‘electronics’. The word reflects the basic nature of this field, to integrate electrical and mechanical systems in a single device. Mechatronics is said to be the junction where concepts from mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science are merged to design, build and operate products.
DESIGN & MEDIA TECH
This program focuses on the technologies used to capture, create, and design. It uses photography tools from traditional cameras to modern gimbals and drones. Students learn to capture their own media elements, and then learn to use the software necessary to create original designs and media projects.
