On November 4th to 6th, 2018, Cross participated in the 2018 ICEF International Student recruitment event in Berlin, Germany. This is one of many annual ICEF events held around the world where schools meet regional and international student counselling centers. The Berlin event is likely the largest event of its kind, attended by roughly 1200 schools from around the world, and an equal or greater number of student referral agencies. One of only a small number of representatives from Japan, Cross was busy!
During the 3 days of the event, Cross met with organizations from Germany, Mexico, Tanzania, Madagascar, Poland, Romania, Italy, England, Sweden, Canada, the United States, Brazil, France, Belgium, Russia, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Australia, Malaysia, Columbia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Cyprus, and beyond. One thing quickly became absolutely clear: everyone wants to come to Japan!
Following the Berlin event, Cross traveled to Geneva, Switzerland, where it visited and toured the Ecole International, one of the most prestigious international schools in Europe. There we discovered other interesting opportunities that could influence the experiences provided by Cross Education. We also met with the director of E5-Portfolio, an organization dedicated to helping students develop a portfolio for entrance into top universities of Art, Design, and Architecture.
Cross, an international learning center based in Japan, is looking forward to growing its mission and its programs both for people from Japan and from around the world alike. The adventure is just beginning. Next up? Cross will attend the ICEF Moscow event in March 2019 to continue expanding its reach to people from all parts of the world.
